About

About Pack 2701

We are a Family Pack serving youth in grades K–5, welcoming boys and girls to experience the fun and adventure of Cub Scouting.

Based in Northlake, Texas, we primarily recruit from Johnie Daniel Elementary and Lance Thompson Elementary, but youth from any school or neighborhood are welcome!

As a young and energetic pack, we emphasize:

  • Family involvement — siblings and caregivers are part of the adventure.

  • Outdoor fun — hikes, campouts, and hands-on skills.

  • Community service — giving back locally.

  • Leadership development — age-appropriate chances to plan, lead, and help.

What Families Can Expect

Families can look forward to monthly pack meetings that celebrate achievements and build community, along with grade-level den meetings where Scouts work on hands-on adventures.

Our dens are organized by grade: Lions (K), Tigers (1), Wolves (2), Bears (3), Webelos (4), and Arrow of Light (5). Trained volunteer den leaders guide each group, with a pack committee supporting the overall program.

All activities are guided by Scouting’s Youth Protection policies to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for every Scout.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer and get involved. We aim to make volunteering straightforward and parent-friendly with clear communication and bite-sized roles.

What Cub Scouting Teaches

Cub Scouting helps youth build character and citizenship while having fun. Scouts gain confidence through:

  • Outdoor skills and teamwork
  • Practice leadership in small, supported ways
  • Explore a wide range of interests—from nature and first aid to fitness, creativity, and STEM.

The program turns values like helpfulness, responsibility, and respect into everyday habits.

Our pack is part of the Longhorn Council, which serves youth and volunteers across 23 counties in Central and North Texas.

The council provides local leadership, camps, training, and program support, and it backs all major Scouting America programs—Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Exploring.

Longhorn Council organizes community-tailored events, training opportunities, and service projects that help families make the most of Scouting.
